Clyde
Clyde is approximately 2 years old and was an unclaimed stray that was covered in fleas and ticks, terribly matted and approximately 30 pounds underweight when we got him. He has been cleaned up, no longer has parasites of any type (tested negative for any tick-borne diseases) and is happily gaining weight. He is a gorgeous deep mahogany color and with continued good nutrition and care, his coat will only become more beautiful. Clyde loves food and gets very excited around feeding time and hops like a little kid in line for a ride at Disneyland, but does not show any food aggression. He is a very mild-mannered guy and gets along great with other dogs, cats and kids, but doesn't really know how to play yet. He's excellent during bath time, riding in the car and on the leash. Clyde loves to be with people and though he would be good in a home with other pets, would also do well in a home where he could get all the attention and love. Clyde does drool, so if you are put-off by drool, he is not the boy for you!

Clyde, I would like to say, is LOVING his forever home! I wanted to give you a week update and send some pictures and tell you how he has been keeping up here at the beach, which is wonderful!!! He does have a wandering issue which is kind of funny, since he will wander away a little but always turns back to make sure I'm still within eye shot.
He has been learning a great deal with the assistance of Fluffy (my sisters dog). We all go to the park and to other adventures together so they have become the teacher and student, he even barked along side her, watched out the window next to her and eats her bone when she isnt looking! The little sneak!
He is just a big bear! When I come home from work he has learned what the key in the door sounds like and comes jogging to me, with a sweet face and lots of energy. even on the first night when I was gone he was so excited to see me. Like he turns into this uncoordinated puppy who hops and runs and spins, knocks me over and slobbers all over my legs.
He won't let me take a shower alone, or really let me be in the bathroom alone, he lays on the ground while I'm showering washing my face or putting on make up, which I find real sweet, never too far away from me that boy. He has had a food issue, but he learned to leave my food be for the most part, he does stare at it like its going to jump into his mouth. We had a mishap with my bowl of strawberries left on the side table, but he has only done it once. I caught him in the act, so now he just stares.
So basically he has done very well, he is happy, well-fed and gets cuddles, attention and all the sleep he could possible want! This weekend we are going to celebrate our joint birthdays so we are on our way for pupcakes treats and lunch! Thanks for raising a great dog and giving me the opportunity to share my life with him. You have also given me a best friend and a bunch of future happiness! Best present I could ask for this birthday! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! I'll send more updates and pictures as often as I can!

Update: August 10, 2013
I took Clyde to get weighed and snapped a picture! He is for sure my big sweetie! Everyone loves him, he has come a log way from the pup I adopted in just May.
Now let me tell you a little about my little buddy these days... We have Genny & Clyde days every Sunday, where it's just me and him. We start with a walk to the dog wash where 2 hours are taken to wash groom and dry him (he gets very dirty). I'll send a pic of him getting dryed this past Sunday. He is very friendly! He will walk into groups of people just to get attention. The ladies love him, he knows how to milk them. Now men on the other hand, he likes but mostly ignores unless they have treats or he has met them before. Take for example the guy I started dating a few weeks ago. Whenever he comes over Clyde just can't get enough! Same with my brother! He is a very active pup! Floppy and happy, he loves to play and run, even jumps and barks sometimes, it's adorable!
Clyde now weighs 115.4 pounds and is starting to come to his name and the command "come here", but he is still stubborn and will just stare at me for a while before going back to lounging. He has also become quite the crafty boy too! As soon as I get up off the couch to say, turn on a light or light a candle, he is 2 steps behind me, rushing to steal the couch! Which usually works, I let him have it sometimes because he is so darn cute.
He is patient and humble, energetic and much smarter than he lets on. His favorite food is vanilla ice cream and he doesn't like mornings. Dog beach, the park... he loves them and gets along well with most other dogs, mostly ignores them but some smaller dogs he likes to play with.
He is truly my best friend! We go everywhere together! This winter we are gonna take a trip to Wyoming and Colorado and of course, Big Bear for some snow time! He's even gonna get his own personalized barrel collar!
