Spanky (courtesy post)
Spanky, a 5 1/2 year old St. Bernard is currently available from AALOC. This is the information they have provided about Spanky:
SPANKY was rescued from a backyard breeder when he was two months old and he and all his littermates became very ill with Parvovirus. The breeder was going to put them to sleep so AALOC took them and made sure that they got all the vet care that they needed. His littermates have all been placed in homes that SPANKY has not been that lucky. He is almost 5 1/2 years old and has been adopted once only to be returned two weeks later as they said they could not handle his being territorial which we assured them that he would become once he established that this was his home and yard. He was diagnosed with epilepsy this year and seems to have seizures monthly which run in clusters where he can have between two and four seizures in a 24 hour period. He is on several medications to control the seizures.
He is a very loving dog and gets along well with other dogs but must have a home where somebody is present most of the time because of his seizures, no pool or Jacuzzi unless securely fenced off, and no small children. He needs a secure yard/fence as he will become territorial.
We are not requiring an adoption fee but are looking for the right home for him that will be able to provide the care that he needs. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 714-893-4393
