Carina (forever name Dora)
Carina was 14 months old when she and her brother Caruso were rescued by Sunny Saints from a very neglectful background. She and her brother were given little food or attention and were kept in a dog run outside for their entire lives. Because they were both confined to the outdoors, they will forever have to live with the scars on their ears and noses caused by fly strikes. They are both very sweet dogs that crave attention and a lot of food, which they received in their Foster home. Carina only weighed 70 pounds when we got her and needed to gain 20 to 30 pounds to be at an ideal weight (and to be spayed). Carina’s intelligence truly shined as she quickly became housetrained and loved to sit for treats. Even though Carina was a little shy when she first became a Sunny Saint, she learned that people could, in fact, be trusted. Carina was adopted to a family that unfortunately had to return her after having her for 22 months due to having to relocate. Fortunately, Brooke was able to step in and adopt “Dora” right away.
