Foster App PawlyticsFoster homes are the single most important aspect of our rescue. Without them, we wouldn't be able to carry out our mission.
A foster home provides the dog with food, water, indoor shelter, grooming, training and shall administer medication when required. The foster family also provides love and socialization. The foster family should commit to keeping the dog until placed for adoption. Should the foster family decide to keep the dog they may fill out an application. The foster family will be asked to evaluate the dog in their care. Is the dog good with children, other dogs, cats? The foster family should expose the dog to as many different situations as possible in order to get a clear picture of the dog and what type of adoptive home the dog would do best in.
Fostering a dog and knowing that you truly made a life saving difference in the life of a Saint is very rewarding. If you have never owned a Saint, fostering one is a great way to help you decide if this is the breed for you before making a ten year commitment.
