Cathy & Chuck McAmish
We were introduced to Saint's back in 1977 and ever since then all we've had are Saints. We used to get our Saints from Cherry Oaks, but our friend Shannon quit breeding Saints. When our last Saint passed away we decided that was enough, no more Saints. For 5 years we had no Saint Bernards, until one day we decided we missed having a Saint in our family. We searched all over and came across the same Saint over and over.
This is when we became familiar with a Saint Bernard rescue. We got a boy named Blu who filled our lives with such happiness. Then one year ago we rescued a female, Saint Tootsie, and she just happened to be pregnant. We fostered her puppies until they all found their forever homes. Last October our boy Blu passed away. Since getting Blu from a rescue I have been helping by checking on other Saints that need rescuing. Checking them at the shelters, willing to do house checks & offering to foster these lovable Saints. We fostered Louie and adopted him, or should I say he adopted us. We want to help as many Saints as possible, because a lot of people get these cute little puppies never thinking how large they get. Saint puppies are a handful and a lot of people just don't know how to cope with all that energy. Through no fault of the Saints they end up in the shelters.
Our goal is to save as many Saints and get them their forever home where they will be loved. I found there is no better love then that of a rescue Saint. With "Sunny Saints" we aim to find loving homes for our Saints and allow them to be fostered in a home environment. We as a group have become very close, like a family. Our goal is to help all Saints that need our help. As the poem goes I want to give him/ her a second chance.
