I’m an old retired AM/FM Top 40 DJ and Film / Video Projectionist. I grew up with Saints and just love the dogs for some reason....They’re just like a big Teddy Bear to me. The first thing I did when I moved back home was to get a Saint Bernard pup to raise. “Sheriff” was my first pup, a ruff coat that was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 months. He had a very good and happy life and died at 6.5 years. Heartbroken, I spoke to my breeder (June Morris) who had a litter on the way and in the meantime, I adopted my first Great Pyrenees "Gunner" and what a great dog he was. Six months later I received my second Saint "Ringo" who was another great big dog to love and care for. The two grew up together and were just like brothers. We were one big happy family.
Well, they grew old together and it finally got to the point where it was time to do something. Ringo was going on 11 years old and it was time... It was February 13th and I was with Ringo until his last breath and it was so good for me to be with him to the end. I could tell Gunner was missing Ringo and ten days later Gunner went down. I was also at his side to the end.
I was heartbroken and wanted another Saint but could not afford to take proper care of one. Everybody said get a smaller dog. I looked around and just couldn't do it, I had to have a Saint. Months later I was checking out Pet Finder and saw Mozart and he needed a foster home bad so I stepped in. It felt great to have another Saint running around the house again. Right now my passion is to help save these BIG dogs! My house is their house.
Thank you Sunny Saints for the opportunity to help foster these Saints!
