Hoss (forever name Little Joe)
We pulled Hoss from a local shelter where he had been picked up as a stray and was never claimed. He was approximately 4 years old and had a microchip when we got him but the contact information was outdated so his owner could not be located (another reason to make sure that your dogs microchip information is current). Hoss came from the shelter very well behaved and submissive, easily following his obedience commands of "sit", "down", "stay" and "come" and he walked well on a leash enjoying the company of other dogs and people. He especially loved riding in his Rescuer’s car and jumped right up in the back of the SUV without any assistance. His foster mom was told that she could name him before she even met him face-to-face, and chose the name "Hoss," but when she met him, declared him to be more of a "Little Joe" than a "Hoss" because he weighed in at a svelte 100 pounds. Helen Mowby loved him so much she just couldn’t let him go once he got to her house as a foster pup and adopted him before he even had a chance for one meet and greet with a potential adopter. Helen claims he is the perfect addition to the family where he gets along great with Helen's daughter's Mastiff.
