Mimi (forever name Matte)
Mimi was rescued from a local shelter where she was picked up as a stray that went unclaimed. She is 75 pounds and estimated to be about 6 months old and has that unmistakable puppy exhuberance! She is a "LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME" kind of gal who just demands that you pet her and give her all of your attention. When you sit down, she will crawl in your lap and cover you in kisses! She whas learned to share your affection with other dogs while in her foster home and now does well with all other dogs. She has learned to "sit" before being fed, but we will require that her future family enroll her in obedience classes to help her learn boundaries, as she has obviously been given no direction up until now. When put to bed at night, she stays calm and quiet until you get her up in the morning where you're greeted with a whole body wiggle because she's so happy to see you! She would definitely send small children flying at her present excitement level, so older children would be best for her to play with. She can be mouthy and will nip at your hands and feet as you're walking to get the attention that she so desperately craves. Gentle correction works momentarily, but will need to be continually reinforced until she "gets it". She is going to be a beautiful dog, but needs a family willing to work with her. Please join us in congratulating Kari and Ryan on being that family! She has been renamed Matte (short for Matterhorn) and LOVES her new mom and dad as you can plainly see! Welcome to the Sunny Saints Family! Enjoy your sweet, sweet girl!
