Stoan & Macko's Memorial
December 18, 2011
This year we lost 2 of our 3 dogs... how do I even begin to write about this? I feel that I must put in words a tribute to them as they were very special boys, our family, our 'kids'.
Stoan was adopted by us at age 2 1/2, his story was that he had been tied between 2 trees for most of his life, abused and beaten. He came to us very fearful of people and never trusted anyone, he did not even know what a kiss meant; yet from the day we adopted him he put all his trust in us. He was the sweetest dog and so thankful to have been given a second chance. He had a very strong will and desire to hang on, and finally left us at age 13 after a year of declining health.
Macko was adopted by us at the age of 10 months. The people that gave him up to rescue had decided "he was too big" even though they had purchased him as a pup and met both of his adult parents. Shortly after we adopted him, Macko ruptured his ACL requiring surgery and rehabilitation, a year later the other knee ruptured and was repaired. These orthopedic problems and the rehab times restricted him from being able to play like a young dog does. When he could finally play his time was short lived as cancer took him at a young age of 8.
May both our 'Boys' rest in peace and know that they may be gone, but they will never be forgotten!
