Sugar
Sugar was picked up as a stray in the high desert and fortunately for her, and us, the shelter where she was impounded contacted us when her family didn't come to find her. When Sugar came into rescue she was very much underweight and had to eat soft food because her teeth were so badly broken & worn down (the vet said that was typical of chewing on cage bars in puppy mills). Happily, Sugar’s foster family was able to help her to gain 30 pounds while she stayed with them and even provided her with the loving care she needed not only to overcome extremely infected ears, but following surgeries for non cancerous tumors on an eye, breast and for a severely infected elbow. Sugar was always very mellow, completely trustworthy in the home, and never displayed any separation anxiety. She loves people of all ages and is excellent on a leash where she enjoys a short walk each day. As luck would have it the Geddes family saw her video on line and fell in love with Sugar! We are happy to say that Sugar is doing great, has settled right in and is loving life with her forever family!

Sugar keeps us laughing every day and is the talk of the neighborhood. We have met so many people at the park during walks. She is very friendly and has established some dog friends. She is usually more interested in getting attention from the dog owner rather than the dog.
She is well taken care of, and a bit spoiled. We even bought Sugar a Halloween costume (cheerleader)! She loves her bed, and suns herself during the day through the window. Her favorite position is with her paws under her chin and stretched out along the bed. She also likes to lay half on and half off her bed. When we first got her and she would not eat her dog treats. She would lick the peanut butter off and then leave the rest of the treat on her bed. So funny!

We are sad to report that Sugar has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She was loved dearly by Jeff & Sarah and we share their grief of her loss.
