Crash
Five year old Crash was picked up as a stray in the Barstow that went unclaimed. Sunny Saints fosters Norma & Vickii went to pick him up, and while out getting some lunch waiting for Crash, were involved in a minor accident. (thus the name Crash came to be). He had a multitude of maladies to recover from, including pneumonia, nose bleeds, an ear infection, an enlarged prostate, and open sores on his back legs. He was very skinny, weighing only 117 pounds (the vet said he needed to gain at least 30 pounds for his size). He was also believed to be deaf.
Crash was hospitalized for quite a while before being deemed well enough to go to back to a foster home. Because his health was still so precarious, he stayed with Cathy and Chuck in order to be close to Dr. A at Mission Animal Hospital in Palmdale, who was overseeing all of his care and recovery.
Crash became a bit of a rock star on our Facebook page, with an overwhelming outpouring of love and donations from our generous supporters. Eventually Crash healed but by then, Cathy and Chuck had fallen completely in love with this gentle blue-eyed soul and they knew he was already home. We wish Crash a life full of happiness with them!

Update: September 22, 2012
On January 25, 2012, Crash came in to our lives, He was so skinny you could run your finger between his ribs and feel all his vertebrae. He had pneumonia, a bad ear infection, a urinary infection and sores on his hind legs. He was in bad shape and spent several days in the animal hospital hooked up to an IV. We, along with his first foster parents Norma & Vickii, all prayed that he would make it. Thankfully the prayers worked. When Crash came out of the hospital he had to gain weight before the vet could test the sores on his legs for cancer. Thankfully those tests also came back negative.
As we cared for him through all of his ordeals, we couldn't help but fall in love with him. He felt right at home with our pack. He attached himself to Chuck - they became inseparable. He also became my lap puppy - he thinks he’s a Chihuahua but sure doesn't feel like it when he is on my lap! Crash is deaf but he does very well with hand signals. The rest of the pack has adapted to his deafness and knows how to communicate with him. Louie and Crash are so close they are like brothers.
After all we went through with him, there was just no way we could let him go. We like to think we adopted him, but it’s more like he adopted us. We love him so much and we could not be without him, nor him without us. Crash is a bit of a clown and he makes us laugh every day. Our goal is to spoil him and make his life the happiest he has ever been.
