Kristen (forever name Remy)
Kristen (approximately 1 to 2 years old) and her brother Danny were rescued by Sunny Saints from a local shelter where they were picked up as strays. Kristen was a little on the thin side when she was picked up, but she steadily put on the pounds with the help of her Foster family. We quickly discovered that she got along well with all dogs, cats, horses and kids and was eager to be a best friend and great companion which certainly paid off for her when she was "discovered" by the Vreeland family when they stopped by our Sunny Saints booth at the Recreation Dog Park Pet Fair! They immediately fell for her and when Kristen accompanied the family on their home check she made herself right at home. It seems that she was just as smitten with them!! Congratulations to Kristen and her forever family!

Things are going great with little Miss Remy! We are planning a BBQ to celebrate her 3rd birthday! The vet kept revising her age after we got her so we decided to use her adoption day as her first birthday, which means we've had her for nearly two years already!
We bought a cabin in Idyllwild for Remy (well, for us, too, but we thought she needed a place to run) and she LOVES the snow. She is a complete goofball. She runs and slides across the ice, leaps into huge snowdrifts, and deliberately tromps through the thickest patches of snow.
She is very popular in Seal Beach, too. I can honestly say I've never had a dog get so many compliments. I commonly get comments like, "That's a good looking dog." And I've never had a dog that people ask permission to take her picture. It is hilarious. We were walking down the street a couple of days ago and a guy in a huge truck screeched to a halt and leaned out his window to tell us what a good looking saint she was. And he's right, of course!
We now have her on a raw chicken diet (with added nutrients, alfalfa, etc) and she is doing great. No more allergies, no tummy problems, no finicky eating. We buy loads of the food frozen from a guy in Idyllwild and she has done really well on it.
Sorry - you asked me about my favorite dog in the whole world, so I got a little carried away :) She is the best gift we've ever had - thank you for rescuing her and her brother Bo! She is so loving and sweet and has the funniest personality, it almost makes me cry thinking that someone would ever consider putting her down.
I'm attaching some pictures. She's probably gained 10 pounds since we adopted her but she is still a petite 105 pounder.
